Destruction Options

It is imperative that the data from storage media's are not recoverable.  Sanitization of storage media refers to a process of removing data, with assurance that the data cannot be retrieved or reconstructed.

EnviroGreen Electronic Recycling uses two (2) processes depending on our Clients needs:

Process 1) DOD 5220.22-m Sanitization method, 3+ overwrite passes  Pass #1 all addressable locations using binary zeros  pass #2 Overwrite all addressable locations with binary ones  Pass 3 & more:   Overwrite all addressable locations with random bit pattern verify the final overwrite pass.  Erasing a hard drive using the DoD 5220.22-M data sanitization method will prevent all software-based file recover methods as well as hardware-based recovery methods, from recovering meaningful data from the drive.

A certificate of Destruction is available detailing the above method  for the processing fee of $5.00

Process 2)  Degaussing is the guaranteed form of hard drive erasure. When you degauss a hard drive, you are completely erasing the drive, which destroys all the data. Degaussing is the process of using a powerful magnetic force to destroy the digital patterns on the drive thereby permanently erasing the data and making the Hard Drive unable to store any future information.

A certificate of Destruction is available for Degaussing detailing the make, model and serial number of each hard drive at a fee of $5.00 per hard drive.
